Sundanese to Indonesian Machine Translation Using Hybrid Method

Abstract
Sundanese is the second biggest regional language in Indonesia, with EGIDS scale is at the level of developing [Lewis 2014], as shown in figure 1. Unfortunately the number of speakers of Sundanese continued to decline up to 20% per year [Balai Bahasa Bandung 2010]. Sundanese will be extinct within the next 80 years if there are no effort to preserve this language. The limitaion of Sundanese language resources such as machine readable dictionary, rule set, and corpus, is the major reason the using of statistical and rule based translation method. This research will be focus on the hybrid method that give a proper Bleu score translation result by consider the Sundanese and Indonesian language characteristics.
