Abstract
“Legal awareness as a boarder students as a determinant of order creation, advancement and University boarding program. However, as long as the students do not have sufficient awareness of the rules enforced in the dorms. Increased legal awareness should start from education because education are both a human would produce a responsible, tolerant, and concerned with the environment. Legal awareness among students are necessary because students are the learners, where students projected to become bureaucrats, technocrats, businessmen, and various other professions. On the other hand, students are also required to participate in the social control of the deviations of the system, norms, and values in the society. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the level of legal awareness freshman against the rules enforced in the dorms. The study of descriptive quantitative research methods, with a population of 2,000 students. Probability quota sampling technique is used on this study with a sample of 700 respondents.
The results of this study indicate that the level of legal awareness the freshman at a university dormitory in X are average. The level of student awareness of the provisions of the curfew at 34.16 % ; visiting guests to leave the ID card of 34.38 % ; prohibition entered the room to the opposite sex by 29.60 % ; prohibition to scribble boarding facilities by 29.21 % ; perijizinan for the late return of 30.77 % ; bring a four -wheeled vehicle at 22.89 % ; rules carry cookware 35%. .
The level of legal awareness the freshman at a student dormitory at the university X is at the average level ( regular ). Thus, the dorm and the university should undertake a program of legal education that integrates learning activities, student activities and programs undertaken by dorm habituation.”
