Social Engagement Analysis in Online Conversation of Indonesia Higher Education Case Study: Telkom University

Abstract

Facebook fan page is used by many organizations to manage its stakeholder. Telkom University manages its Facebook fan page officially to disseminate its activities to its stakeholders. By using Social Network Analysis tools, this fan page can be interpret into network metrics and key role user can be identified. . This paper shows the topology of Telkom University network in social media. There are 6 metrics used to analyse the network. From those metrics we can obtain users behavior in the network. So far its user behavior haven???t support insight gathering activities required by Telkom University to improve its activities. Even though there are several things that Telkom University can do to optimize its network, in this case on how Telkom University can create more active environment to trigger conversations in every post they have. Furthermore this research need to be expanded, involving more higher education institution social network to get generic network behavior of Indonesian higher education institution.
