Abstract
“In literature, there are three groups of controversial opinions in concluding the relationship between IT capability and competitive advantage. The first group argues that the impact of IT capabilities on competitive advantage because of these capabilities help organizations to innovate, and because they was able to create uniqueness.
The second group concluded that IT capability has no effect on the competitive advantage due to IT investments easily duplicated by competitors. A third group argues that the influence of IT on competitive advantage depends on the level of implementation and speed of melting in a organization.
With triple-loop learning approach, it was selected an IT capabilities which had a contextual and dynamic capabilities. This study, conducted in PT Telkom found a new novelity that IT capabilities that are able to provide information exchange infrastructure, operationalize new conception, and those are easy to be reconfigured would increase organizational innovativeness which will effected on sustainable competitive advantage. This new dynamic and contextual IT capability, then called as Transformative IT Capability”
