Abstract

Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) has dynamically change network characteristics, as movement of nodes in the network. Therefore appropriate routing protocol is needed for enhancing it???s performance. Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) and Dynamic Manet On Demand (DYMO) are both reactive routing protocol in mobile network environment those can use in VANET. This paper shows the comparison of AODV and DYMO implementation on VANET using NS-2.34 simulation. Routing protocol performance is measured by many parameters such as routing overhead, normalizes routing load, delay, throughput, and packet delivery ratio. The result shows that DYMO better than AODV in routing overhead, normalizes routing load and delay. While AODV better than DYMO in throughput, at scenario 1 and 2, and packet delivery ratio
