Abstract

Kenaf fibre is considered as a low quality fiber with a low selling power. Indonesian people have been knowing Kenaf since Intensifikasi Serat Karung Rakyat (ISKARA) ??? People???s Intensification of Sack Fiber ??? in 1978, where most of the fiber was used for gunny sack purpose. Because of minimum exploration, especially in textile, and innovation towards kinds of products, this fiber is considered as a low selling fiber. Therefore, this research tries to conduct a follow up process after the fiber has been explored to produce a textile raw material, further with design approach; this raw material is applied to be made appropriate textile products. It needs aesthetic consideration and adjustment on the material???s characteristic; it is expected that through this product design there will be innovative products that will give an added value towards kenaf fiber grade-c potential.
